The next lunchtime meetup is on Thursday 28 March. Our focus in this session is Lean. Colleagues from Student Systems join us to share what they took away from a recent Lean in Higher Education conference, and Neil Allison will talk about the Lean UX methodology.

Our latest lunchtime meet up for colleagues interested in improving services for users featured a presentation by UX Consultant Nicola Dobiecka. In this post I’ll highlight the key points and resources in her presentation about avoiding bias when interviewing people.

We’re hosting the next meetup of the Public Sector Design Community on Tuesday 9 October. This is a great (and free!) opportunity to meet and learn from colleagues working in user research and service design in places like the Scottish Government and Registers of Scotland, amongst others.

Last week I had the pleasure of presenting a short session on Lean UX at the Edinburgh User Experience meet up. If you’re local, I recommend joining in as it’s a great way to connect with a wide range of people working in the area.

At our last user focused meet up at the end of January, we were fortunate to have guest speakers from Registers of Scotland talking about the relationship between the disciplines of user experience (UX) and business analysis (BA).
