Our User Experience training continues to be very popular and well reviewed by the University staff attending. At the recent sessions, I asked a few of the group what they thought and have pulled the comments together into a short video.

I’ve just delivered 3 days’ training in user experience (UX) research and design techniques to staff working in IT Services at the University of Essex. (Forgive the title pun, I couldn’t resist). In this post I’ll cover what the training entailed and how trainees rated it.

I’ve developed a new training package combining in-person and online materials for the University that pulls together important user experience and collaboration techniques. Reaching consensus on the ideal user experience can be challenging. It’s even harder when the product doesn’t exist yet. I’ve been helping the Cityscope development team focus their attentions to deliver something that’s both useful and easy to use.

I’ve just returned from delivering 2 days of UX training for the University of Aberdeen. We covered usability testing and review, workshops and prototyping.

Last week, I spent three days on an intensive course to consolidate my knowledge on creating an effective user experience, and now hold the certificate of ‘Certified Professional in User Experience (Foundation level)’, or CPUX-F.

In the process of redesigning the website’s search results page, I tried out rapid collaborative prototyping and found it dramatically speeded up my design development and helped to build consensus with stakeholders in the team.

We have just created some Balsamiq templates for EdWeb users, which you can use to make mockup pages for your websites.

On Monday 23 February, I was invited to come along to the Innovative Learning Week’s “Smart Data Hack”, hosted by the School of Informatics, to talk about prototyping.
