Work we’ve been doing on projects that support strategic themes or overall University strategy.

Once again we contributed to the University’s Festival of Creative Learning, a week in the academic schedule where students take a break from their formal studies to explore a wide range of new topics and learning techniques.

Over the Festival of Creative Learning, I ran a workshop to teach Writing for the Web to students and had them demonstrate their newfound skills through a collaborative writing exercise.

Over the summer we worked to improve the quality of web provision for prospective online learners. In this post, we recap the project process we followed and outcomes.

The Website and Communications team has recently been heavily involved in a pilot project to improve the journey of prospective online learning students, from investigation to offer.

Last week I presented an update to the Digital Transformation Board on what the User Experience (UX) Service has achieved so far and what lies ahead for the coming year.

The Digital Transformation 2018 conference organised by DIGIT, Scotland’s largest independent business technology community, took place at Dynamic Earth with 270 delegates braving the weather to listen to speakers from across the sector. Talks focused on key trends like responding to change and making transformation fun before finally ending up with the f-word – failure.

We have recently completed a six month collaboration with University Human Resources Services (UHRS) which has delivered a fledgling digital strategy, developed new content management processes and skills within their team, and rationalised priority areas of their website.

The end of 2017 marks the first anniversary of our collaboration with IS Helpline to iteratively improve their IT help provision. A year in, we look back at some of our achievements in the process of improving the user experience around IT support at the University.
