What’s with UX in higher education? My presentation at the IWMW conference

I gave a presentation at the IWMW conference last month. This is the annual event for web managers in higher education. The slides and a transcript are now available.

Conference attendee tweet: "My favourite quote of the conference so far"

I’ve always loved this quote. Pleased it raised a smile with a few in the audience.

The conference took place at Northumbria University in Newcastle, from 16 to 18 July, and was attended by about 130 delegates from institutions across the UK.

My session went well I think, judging by the conversation I provoked afterwards and the feedback that I got.

The topic – “What’s with UX in HE?” – is one that will be returned to more and more frequently in the coming years I think. User experience management is happening in other sectors and bringing about huge cultural change. It’s only a matter of time before it hits our sector in a big way.

I intend to keep talking and reflecting and evolving the slides. Let’s see where we are in a year’s time.

I’ve published a transcript of the session, plus slides and feedback, on my blog. I’d love to hear what you think about the points I raise.
