Preview of IWMW 2014 presentations – UX in Higher Ed and Rebooting MyEd

Martin Morrey (from the IS Applications Web Integration Team) and I are both presenting at the upcoming web managers conference – IWMW 2014. We’re running an internal session previewing our presentations on Friday 4 July for colleagues that can’t make the conference.

I mentioned in my last post that I was going to be (sort of) thinking aloud at the upcoming conference in Newcastle. Martin is also presenting, so we thought it would be good to give you all a preview.

If you’re free mid-July and have a bit of training budget left for this year, I recommend coming along to the conference itself. It’s fantastic value for money and not too far to travel this year.

Martin is going to be talking about how his team have been overhauling MyEd and the role that analytics has played in informing the enhancements.

Meanwhile, I’m talking more generally about user experience (UX) management in our sector, how we lag behind commercial sectors and thinking about why this might be.

Presentation previews in Edinburgh – book a place

So if either of these talks sound interesting, please do book a place and come along. Both Martin and I would welcome discussion and feedback as we put the finishing touches to our sessions for the conference.

When: Friday 4 July, 3-5pm
Where: Main Library

An honourable mention for Bruce too!

Bruce Darby in our team is also involved at the conference. He’s running a workshop on personas. But as he’s on holiday in the run up to the conference we couldn’t get him involved in this preview. So if you want to see him in action, you’ll need to join us in Newcastle!
