I had my first experience volunteering at an online conference at SDinGov Virtual in March 2024. Having volunteered at in-person conferences before this event gave me a chance to try something new and to get more involved in the delivery of sessions. It was also a good opportunity to grow my confidence.

The annual web content-themed conference for higher education professionals is happening in Liverpool this year, from 8 to 9 October. Lauren and I are contributing sessions, and we’re looking forward to a couple of days of learning and networking with colleagues across the sector.

On Friday, I attended my first unconference. It turned out to be one of the most fulfilling days I’ve had in a long time.

Last year I started volunteering at conferences. I continued this journey at the SDinGov (Service Design in Government) conference in September 2023. In this post, I share my top sessions and how volunteering supports my professional development.

At the annual ContentEd Awards ceremony, the Team won two awards, and our very own Neil Allison won an award for championing and elevating others working in content. In this post, I share one of our winning submissions, showcasing our great work.

From 7 to 9 June 2023 five members of our team attended the annual UX Scotland conference at Dynamic Earth. In this blog post we share our highlights and takeaways.

Last month I attended a one-day UK EduCamp unconference at the University of Sheffield. The relaxed format provided lots of opportunity to discuss and learn about burning topics for digital teams in the sector, and to connect with colleagues old and new.

I attended (and spoke at) Utterly Content earlier this year, an online conference for content professionals around the world. In this post, I recap my top takeaways from some of the talks I watched.

Our content team members attended – and some even spoke at – the ContentEd conference in November. In this post, we recap what our favourite sessions were and what we took away from the conference.

We’ve had a fabulous couple of days at this year’s Content Ed conference, with three members of the team contributing sessions and our user-centred approach winning top prize in this category.
