The Public Sector Digital Meetup is a community-organised regular event in the Edinburgh area bringing together colleagues from government, councils, universities, museums and other organisations. Yesterday I had the chance to provide an update about our project to deliver a new website for prospective students, at the University’s Web Publishers Community. Slides and video are available.
We’re running an open invite event on Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 12 March to share our latest insight from user research as part of the project developing the new postgraduate taught (on-campus and online) programme page.
Over the summer we undertook user research with prospective research students to better understand their experiences and help inform the design of our future web presence. We presented findings last week to the student recruitment and marketing community, and the slides and video are now available to staff.
The annual web content-themed conference for higher education professionals is happening in Manchester this year, from 16 to 17 October. Lauren and I are contributing sessions, and the team are looking forward to a couple of days of learning and networking with colleagues across the sector.
We have concluded that it’s not going to be feasible to release our new service for prospective students as planned next year, due to our dependency on the Web Publishing Platform which is not yet ready to roll out.
We’ve had a fabulous couple of days at this year’s Content Ed conference, with three members of the team contributing sessions and our user-centred approach winning top prize in this category.
In November, our team is going to and presenting at the ContentEd conference hosted in Edinburgh. ContentEd is a 2-day conference designed for people working in content strategy, content design and content marketing in the higher education sector.
