Increase your AI preparedness – new internal resource to learn about AI and how it can aid our work.

Space designed to increase your AI preparedness

I joined LTW this summer as a ChatGPT and OpenAI intern. I teamed up with Wietske and set out on intense three months journey to create a report aimed at establishing what part of AI is hype and what part can actually be useful for all of us here.

As it turned out, after speaking with a lot of you, there needs to be a space where we can all learn about AI and by that increase our AI preparedness. This a space where with full confidence you can know you are getting most up to date and filtered information about AI; its unique capabilities, but also the real risks that it poses.

The aim of this space is to be a guide where you can both learn what you need to know to be up to speed about AI, but also to uniquely position you as knowledgeable about all the risks that come with AI use and be aligned with the unique set of values the University upholds.

Amidst all the hype about generative AI, it can be challenging to find a good resource to learn about it and how it changes workplaces around the world. The new SharePoint site is designed to offer members of LTW exactly that.

In the Generative AI Resource and Information Hub for LTW – Home (sharepoint.com), you will find sections as below:

Common misconceptions

Contents of this section are a result of many hours of conversations conducted together with you at LTW over the summer and consolidating them into a guide of what generative AI is and what it is not; what it can and cannot do. It is important to scope the misconceptions out before venturing deeper into the bigger picture.

Ethical considerations

After establishing basic scoping of what Generative AI is, the next section is an overview of all the most important ethical considerations that come with this technology. Here, examples are provided, and the aim is to stop and think about what we should do about them when implementing AI at LTW.

Risks of AI use

AI can be a transformational tool and can be used to make our life easier. It does, however, come with its unique risks. Since the effect of implementing AI can come down to shifting our behaviour or shifting the behaviour of who we serve at LTW, it is impossible to always predict what will be the effects of that.

On the one hand, smartphones truly made us more connected to our family members. On the other hand, the society is the most disconnected as it has ever been as a result of everyone owning one. When implementing AI, we need to look at both the long-term hidden risks and the short-term risks.

Mitigation of risks

AI can be a great tool to enhance the experience at work, but it also comes with many risks. LTW’s approach is first and foremost to be responsible with how and if AI should be used at all, while staying on top of all the innovation that is coming out. In this section there is concrete advice on how to manage risk mitigation regarding AI.

Technical considerations and related integrations risks with generative AI

Generative AI is largely unlike the traditional computer systems we are used to. We cannot rely on the quality or responses staying consistent or the output always being the same after the same prompt. Because of this, creating solutions based on Generative AI calls for a unique approach. This section is a broad overview of what should be considered.

Available generative AI technologies overview and impact on service delivery

Finally, we come to the longest section. This is a comprehensive overview of all relevant generative AI technologies. In today’s fast-evolving technological landscape, Generative AI stands out as a transformative force reshaping industries across the board. Understanding the diverse array of AI technologies available is crucial for organizations aiming to leverage the potential of AI effectively. In this section we take closer look at the comprehensive spectrum of AI technologies revolutionizing the way we work and live.
