Card sorting has allowed us to better understand how students expect information to be grouped in Learn.

Over the last 3 months I had the opportunity to work on a project to create two websites to help recruit students on to postgraduate online Masters programmes.

Over the last 3 months I had the opportunity to work on a research project with the aim to improve MyEd for staff. MyEd for students had already gone through a transformation earlier in the year, and this was a chance to bring about similar improvements for the staff view of the portal.

As part of our programme of user research in support of the Learn Foundations project, we have carried out a top tasks survey to understand what students need when accessing course materials online.

I have been conducting rounds of usability testing to guide the redesign of EASE, the University’s online sign-in system. These tests needed to be completed quickly with no time or budget for recruitment. The following is an outline of what I did, and what I learned.

This academic year the User Experience Service has been collaborating with the Learn Foundations project to undertake a programme of user research. This blog post will focus on one particular strand: interviews with students.
