Discussion around changes and news directly relevant to the UWP team – staffing changes, social news etc

I’ve been accepted as a contributor at this year’s UX Scotland conference, happening at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh from 7 to 9 June 2017.

We now have two members of staff who are specialists in user experience design and strategy working on the Digital Transformation Initiative-funded UX Services projects.

I am the Napier placement student for the University Website Programme for the year 2016/17, working as a CMS Support Assistant. Four months in, I am really happy that I had the opportunity to acquire new technical and communication skills.

Our team has relocated, starting Monday 21 November, to Argyle House, near the Edinburgh College of Art Lauriston campus. This will provide us with an opportunity to collaborate closer with colleagues in LTW and other ISG divisions, while taking advantage of the new facilities.

Last week I was invited to Scottish Enterprise to learn a bit about their agile development set up and how UX and service design are integrated into their practices.

The University had a fantastic level of representation at  this year’s IWMW conference hosted at Liverpool JMU in late June. In this post, colleagues share their thoughts on the event.

For the past 12 weeks, I have undertaken website appraisal and analytics tasks as part of my internship as a CMS Support Intern with the University Website Programme.

This week we bid farewell to Rachel Bhandari, who has been an essential member of our team for the past couple of years doing great work to enhance our content strategy practices and helping the Universtiy transition to EdWeb.

The first EdWeb code sprint took place with 14 people coming together to discuss, develop, code and problem solve a set of requirements and changes for EdWeb. This is a collaboration between two teams within Information Services: Applications and UWP and with developers from all around the University.

I’m currently half way through my internship with the UWP team as a CMS support intern, evaluating changes in user behaviour following the migration of University websites to EdWeb. So far, a very enjoyable experience!
