The University of Edinburgh is in the process of carrying out a Web Estate Audit to better understand our online presence, and the project is now moving on to its next stage.

This July we were joined by colleagues from the ECA and CAHSS web teams at this year’s IWMW conference at the University of Kent. In this post, colleagues share their thoughts on the event.

I made my conference debut at IWMW 2017, leading a workshop on pair writing. In this post, I share some of my observations from the session and feedback from my participants.

Nick Daniels joined us this week on secondment from the School of Philosophy, Psychology & Language Sciences for 9 months. He’s going to help us increase the level of service we offer while we commit to longer term collaborations with business units focussing on incremental improvements to their web presences.

I had the chance to attend the inaugural DIGIT Leaders’ Summit at Our Dynamic Earth. This event was focused in how technology has permeated all facets of modern organisations, becoming an equal, if not integral, partner in setting core business strategies.

We’re heading down to the University of Kent for the Institutional Web Management Workshop (11-13 July), and we want you to come, too! The conference is aimed at staff in UK higher education institutions responsible for websites and other digital provisions.

Duncan Stephen joined our team at the end of March as an Editorial Development Officer, bringing a tremendous range of skills and experience developed over a number of years at other higher education institutions in Scotland.

I’ve been accepted as a contributor at this year’s UX Scotland conference, happening at Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh from 7 to 9 June 2017.

We now have two members of staff who are specialists in user experience design and strategy working on the Digital Transformation Initiative-funded UX Services projects.
