Event: User research playback event on overseas entry requirements 8 July

Join us on Thursday 8 July at 10am to watch international prospective undergraduates try out a design we’ve prototyped to make it easier to work out whether they might be qualified to study an undergraduate degree at Edinburgh.

The team are looking ahead to the replacement of our current undergraduate and postgraduate degree finders.

We are using a technique called design sprints to help us explore potential future states that better meet student needs and reflect the business priorities of the University.

An overview of the design sprint process and why we’re taking this approach

About this session

This session summarises our fifth design sprint, looking at how international prospective students might better anticipate whether they’re likely to meet our entry requirements, including English language requirements.

We have designed a prototype concept that will help us to gauge how useful students find an interactive tool to tailor entry requirements-related information to their situation.

Join us to see how prospective undergraduates react to our design, and contribute to our summarisation and prioritisation of positive and negative aspects.

This is a great way to get involved in the future shape of our most important online provision for prospective students.

Who is this event for?

If you are involved in student recruitment, admissions, communications and/or marketing in a central service or in a school or college, then this will be of interest.

As well as hearing about what we’ve learned, we want your input too. So, if you have experience of working with prospective students, we hope you can join us.

What we’ll do

In this session we will:

  • provide some background about the work we’ve been doing in this sprint
  • watch short videos of students completing representative tasks using the prototype
  • work together to summarise and prioritise what we’ve learned
