About DrupalCamp

A DrupalCamp is an event which brings together a local Drupal community for one or more days of talks, activities and networking.

Drupal is an open source web Content Management System (CMS). It’s the CMS that the University of Edinburgh’s EdWeb and EdWeb 2 are built on. It is also used by many of our schools who work independently of EdWeb, including the Business School and Law School.

The Drupal community spans the globe, with Drupal used by many universities, governments, organisations and companies. The Drupal community is diverse. While there are large scale conferences, known as DrupalCons, happening multiple times per year in different locations there are also  DrupalCamps which are smaller and locally organised. These are grass-roots, community-driven events.

My involvement

I’ve been lucky enough to attend large and small-scale Drupal events in Scotland and abroad as part of my role, and am proud to have had the opportunity to help bring this event together.

DrupalCamp Scotland is organised by a small committee of volunteers, and each of us contribute because we believe in the importance of bringing together the Drupal community here in Scotland. We want to see Drupal thrive locally, and DrupalCamp Scotland is the key event which allows that to happen.

Hope to see you there. I’ll be busy with helping the event run smoothly on the day, but do come and say hello.
