Sharing the work of the Prospective Student Web Content Team

Month: February 2024

We’re running an open invite event on Microsoft Teams on Tuesday 12 March to share our latest insight from user research as part of the project developing the new postgraduate taught (on-campus and online) programme page. Event details What: An online playback of insight arising from user research with prospective PGT students. When: Tuesday 12 […]

I joined the Prospective Student Web Content Team in September 2023, and immediately headed out on campus with everyone to conduct usability testing with new students. It was a great way to immerse myself in the Team’s user-centred approach and learn about a technique that should be part of every content designer’s skill set.

During our recent content designer recruitment, I made a few changes to improve our hiring process. One of these changes was introducing a feedback form for applicants. I reflect on what I learned from the responses and actions I want to take to improve things further.

I recently recruited for a content designer to join our team. We saw common themes in the applications that didn’t make the cut and in those that we did shortlist. I want to share this feedback for candidates who didn’t get shortlisted for interview, and to provide advice for future applicants.
