Join us at the Higher Ed web conference IWMW16
Once again we’re contributing to the annual UK Higher Education web managers conference, IWMW. It’s a great opportunity to learn from and network with colleagues in our sector, and we’re encouraging staff here in Edinburgh to join us at Liverpool John Moores University, 21-23 June.
We’ve got a pretty good track record of supporting this great little conference, and hosted it back in 2012.
This year I’m presenting the opening plenary of the conference, and also contributing a 3 hour masterclass session, while Bruce, Rachel and Billy are delivering a workshop.
Check out the agenda and get in touch if you’ve got any questions about the conference. It’s a really great value event and excellent CPD for web professionals. In the past we’ve been joined by colleagues from college web teams, Communications and Marketing and Information Services, and hopefully once again there’ll be a strong showing from the University of Edinburgh.
Our contributions
- “Requirements are hypotheses: how Lean UX can help you deliver better products” – Neil Allison’s plenary
- “Migrating people to a new CMS” – Bruce Darby, Rachel Bhandari and Billy Wardrop’s workshop
- “Agile usability testing” – Neil Allison’s masterclass

Past sessions
We’ve written posts in recent years about our IWMW highlights:
Throughout the conference I felt that it wasn’t so much about learning something new, but more about discussion with like-minded colleagues in an environment of affirmation, with great examples of positive application of principles leading to successful digital activity.
