Updates to do with the current Drupal CMS development project.
Thank you to all of those who came along to this month’s Web Publishers’ Community meeting– it was a highly informative and engaging session, with presentations on a wide variety of interesting topics.
A key topic from last week’s Website Support Clinic was Flickr galleries and using the FlickrIt application to insert image galleries into EdWeb.
The next regularly scheduled updates and improvements to EdWeb take place on Monday 6 July. This latest deployment will include asset tracking, page audience restriction, and the ability to create RSS feeds.
As June comes to a close the WPC Session heard further updates on EdWeb’s progress and the development of a new University Web Accessibility Policy. To close the session participants watched a webinar entitled “The Mobile Content Mandate” presented by content strategist Karen McGrane.
The UWP-led team responsible for the delivery of the new EdWeb CMS were shortlisted for ICT Team of the Year in May. While we didn’t receive the top prize at the Holyrood Connect Awards ceremony in Glasgow last week we are still very pleased with a top 3 finish.
The new EdWeb forms functionality has just launched. It’s a really powerful tool that can replace not only Polopoly forms but also many forms that currently need to be proxied in.
The next in our regular schedule of updates and improvements to EdWeb takes place on Tuesday 16 June. In addition to a wide variety of technical and performance improvements, we will be rolling out two new convenient, user-friendly features: bulk publishing and webforms.
One of the key things discussed at this week’s Website Support Clinic was homepages and how to create one effectively using the new EdWeb CMS.
The final sites within phase three of the EdWeb migration project went live on 2 June, completing this phase and marking another milestone in the project.
This month’s WPC session focused on how to create forms in EdWeb and case studies on sites using Drupal to self-generate content.
