Our next monthly lunchtime meet up for people interested in user experience-related matters is Wednesday 21 February, with presenter Chris Nodder providing a beginner’s guide to Design Thinking.

Our next user focused meet up happens 25 January 2018, with guest speakers Clare Barnett and Hilary Brownlie from Registers of Scotland talking about the complimentary roles of business analysts and user experience professionals.

This week we welcomed Stephen Denning, Director of User Experience (UX) with Edinburgh consultants User Vision as our guest speaker at our lunchtime meet up, before a lively discussion of hot topics the group wanted to explore.

Last week I took part in my first ‘unconference’, the inaugural get together of OneTeamGov Scotland. People from across the public sector and third sector getting together to share the joys and challenges of building better services.

Stephen Denning, Director of User Experience (UX) with Edinburgh consultants User Vision is our guest speaker this month. He’s going to talk about how achieving great experiences relate to an organisation’s mindset. The session is Wednesday 13 December.

I’ve just delivered 3 days’ training in user experience (UX) research and design techniques to staff working in IT Services at the University of Essex. (Forgive the title pun, I couldn’t resist). In this post I’ll cover what the training entailed and how trainees rated it.

Following the success of our first-ever lunchtime meet up for colleagues interested in all things user experience, we’ve set up our next one. It’s happening Wednesday 13 December.

Yesterday we held the first of hopefully many lunchtime UX meetup sessions for colleagues interested in making websites, products and services for useful and user-friendly. We started with a seminar on guerrilla user research from Marty Dunlop, before spending 45 minutes in a lively debate of topics chosen by the group.

Join us to learn about impromptu, informal “guerrilla” user research and discuss your work with colleagues at our first lunchtime meet-up for staff interested in improving services and experiences. We’ll be in Argyle House on Wednesday 18 October, 12:30 til 2.

We’re running another informal briefing and networking event centred around user experience-related services and activities happening at the moment. You can book a place for the session happening at Argyle House, Friday 13 October 14:30.
