UG 2021 Degree Finder – GatherContent training

We’re running training for colleagues involved in the update of the Undergraduate Degree Finder, to support our adoption of the GatherContent tool.

Why GatherContent?

The new GatherContent platform is intuitive and easy to use. This will help to reduce workload and make everyone’s lives easier. For example, colleagues can easily collaborate on edits – no more word doc tennis.

GatherContent

What do you need from me?

The GatherContent platform works by allocating ‘seats’. This gives specific users access to the system to make direct edits. Seats will be allocated by School to the relevant marketing or recruitment colleague usually responsible for collating UG content. So you will need to ensure that one person from your School is allocated a seat.

How does it work?

We’ve set up a training session on Thursday 21 November, 3pm-5pm. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided. Chris Charlick, from GatherContact, will be dialling in to demo the new process. Chris will also be on-hand to take any questions you may have.

Where/when is the training session?

The session will run in Room 3.24, St Leonard’s Land, Holyrood Road. It’s best to take the lift to the third floor (it’s very easy to get lost!) The training session is designed for people who have been allocated a seat.  We will finalise the list of seat holders at the session itself.

If you’re not sure whether you’ll be a seat holder or not, but you’d like to attend the training, you’re very welcome to do so.

Please ensure you have allocated a seat!

We do need to ensure that at least one representative is present from each School. So if it’s not clear yet who the final seat holder will be in your School, please do make sure that one representative attends.

Need help or have a question?

If you need any help with the GatherContent system or the degree finder process then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at ugpreturns@ed.ac.uk or by phone on 651 6315.

You can also use the live chat option on GatherContent (the blue chat symbol appears on most pages). Or you can get in touch with our GatherContent representative Chris Charlick at chris@gathercontent.com

Thank you again for your support during this new process, we’re looking forward to working in a new, more intuitive way with you all.
