UG 2021 Degree Finder – Access your GatherContent account

Following on from our recent training session on GatherContent for everyone involved in the update of the Undergraduate Degree Finder,  we’ve now updated our guidance wiki and distributed logins to everyone involved.

Access to GatherContent

You will shortly receive an email from Gather Content inviting you to log in to the system. From there you will be able to view your subjects and programmes and send out shareable links to relevant subject matter experts. The easiest way to view all items assigned to you is to select ‘All items’ at the top of the left-hand navigation bar. You will only be able to see programmes that are assigned to you.

Joint programmes will be assigned to the Seat from each School, so will have two assignees.

If you do not receive an email inviting you to log in by end of day Friday 22 November please get in touch with us at ugpreturns@ed.ac.uk

Support resources

We have updated the undergraduate degree finder support resources on the Communications and Marketing Wiki. This now includes guidance for using GatherContent, an updated production process and schedule, advice for content editors, and a list of assigned Seats for GatherContent.

The videos from the training event are also included on the Wiki guidance – you will find these at the very top of the Gather Content Guidance page. These videos currently still contain the reference to ‘courses’ rather than ‘programmes’ but we have requested for this to be altered and will upload replacement videos next week. Please feel free to share the SME video with anyone you wish to collaborate with on content.

Gather Content also have an excellent help centre which can answer many frequently asked questions.

Content deadline for UG Degree Finder 2021

The content for all undergraduate subject areas and programmes must be finalised on GatherContent by Tuesday 24 December 2019.

We recognise that this is a short turnaround, particularly with the strike action next week, but we hope that you will understand that we are working under special circumstances this year. We have designed our schedule to allow for the usual 4 weeks of content review.

There will also be the opportunity for a second review in February via the preview degree finder system.

The GatherContent system is designed to streamline content collection and editing so we are confident that this will speed up the process in light of this deadline.

Need help or have a question?

If you need any help with the GatherContent system or the degree finder process then please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at ugpreturns@ed.ac.uk or by phone on 651 6315.

You can also use the live chat option on GatherContent (the blue chat symbol appears on most pages). Or you can get in touch with our GatherContent representative Chris Charlick at chris@gathercontent.com

Thank you again for your support during this new process, we’re looking forward to working in a new, more intuitive way with you all.
