A fond farewell

After just over a year working at the UWP, it is now time to say my goodbyes as I leave to take up a new post outwith the University. It has been an overwhelmingly positive experience, and I have acquired a whole host of new editorial and technical skills, which I hope to carry forward with me throughout my career.

I joined the UWP back in March 2015 to assist with the migration of the University websites to EdWeb. During my time, I’ve seen EdWeb develop tremendously and grow into the powerful CMS that it is today, and there is no doubt in my mind that it will continue to deliver, as further enhancements are made based on your feedback.

Aside from my work on the EdWeb project, one aspect of my job that I enjoyed the most was getting to meet members of the Web Publishers’ Community from all over the University; I got to know a great number of interesting people through the monthly WPC sessions and Website Support Clinics. The Tuesday drop-in sessions are a great way to get your problems solved quickly and efficiently, so if you haven’t used this service yet, I would encourage you to do so.

I also thoroughly enjoyed my weekly runs with JogScotland running club. The central group meet every Tuesday and Thursday for a bit of lunchtime exercise – I found it a great way to relax after sitting at a desk for hours!

I’d like to thank the team for all their help and support and I wish them all the best with their move to Argyle House later this year.
