I’m presenting at DrupalCamp Scotland 2025

DrupalCamp Scotland, Scotland’s annual conference about all things Drupal, is happening on Friday 7 November here at the University, and this year I’ll be presetning about our project to rebuild the degree finder.

Last year I wrote about my experience of helping to bring back DrupalCamp Scotland after a 5-year pause.

Read my blog post about bringing back DrupalCamp Scotland: reflections on a successful return

This year myself, along with James South from our development partner manifesto, will be giving a presentation about the multi-year project to redevelop the degree finders. In the talk we’ll reflect on the project as a whole, sharing key learnings and insights.

What is DrupalCamp

A DrupalCamp is an event which brings together a local Drupal community for one or more days of talks, activities and networking.

Drupal is an open source web Content Management System (CMS). It’s the CMS that the University of Edinburgh’s EdWeb and EdWeb 2 are built on. It is also used by many of our schools who work independently of EdWeb, including the Business School and Law School.

The Drupal community spans the globe, with Drupal used by many universities, governments, third sector organisations and commercial companies. It’s a diverse community. While there are large scale conferences, known as DrupalCons, happening multiple times per year in different locations there are also  DrupalCamps which are smaller and locally organised. These are grass-roots, community-driven events.

My involvement

I’ve been lucky enough to attend large and small-scale Drupal events in Scotland and abroad as part of my role, and am proud to be part of the team that organises this event.

DrupalCamp Scotland is organised by a small group of volunteers, and each of us contribute because we believe in the importance of bringing together the Drupal community here in Scotland. We want to see Drupal thrive locally, and DrupalCamp Scotland is the key event which allows that to happen.

Hope to see you there.
