This month’s WPC session focused on research done on social media integration with the University website, the power of repeat usability testing, EdGEL for blogging and the use of GitLab in the development process.

This month’s Web Publisher’s Community session highlighted new and existing features in EdWeb and gave us an insight into ongoing development of the platform.

We had a packed agenda at this month’s WPC session with presentations about EdWeb Group Administrators, two new content types for EdWeb, a report from Google Analytics training, the results of the recent EdWeb feature prioritisation survey and a guide to applying EdGEL to your web apps and blogs.

This month’s WPC session focused on the EdWeb Roadmap, campus maps development and included a special guest talk from University-turned-Skyscanner employee David Pier.

This month’s Web Publishers’ Community session included talks on Lean UX, responsive widgets and the monthly project update on the EdWeb CMS. We were also joined by two guest speakers: Ewan McAndrew, the new Wikimedian in Residence and Stephen Donnelly, who spoke about the new media asset management system, Media Hopper.

The final WPC session of 2015, focused on how best to maintain your University website, EdGEL, the Edinburgh Global Experience Language, as well as Bruce’s regular EdWeb project update.

October’s WPC took a broader view than some of the recent, more EdWeb-focused sessions. As the migration to EdWeb passed the halfway mark in September the WPC gathered to hear about the plans for the future of EdWeb. The flexibility of homepages in EdWeb was also highlighted along with an update of the work currently being carried out on cookie management.
