​The 2016 gold Sustainability Awards team at Western General Hospital chose to do their Sustainability Awards office project on sustainable travel. They made cycling easier by organising bike clinics and running a cycle to work buddy scheme. That year, 25% of their staff used bicycles to get to work.

Edinburgh Adapts is a collaboration between The Edinburgh Partnership, Adaptation Scotland, and Sniffer, and aims to help the city adapt to the challenges of a changing climate. David Macpherson reports on the initiative’s latest event which the University of Edinburgh took part in.

Located across the main Library Building and King’s Buildings, the silver Sustainability Awards team’s standout theme was engagement & communications in 2017. They chose actions that were popular to help keep everyone engaged and involved.

50 George Square, School of Literature, Languages and Cultures took part at silver level of the Sustainability Awards in 2016. Their stand out theme was purchasing and reuse. They streamlined ordering procedures, started a book sharing scheme, and increased the use of Warp It, the University’s reuse network.
