Eco-friendly ideas: Remodeling old clothes

Summary

This Open Toolkit combines sustainable fashion, and contemporary art. By teaching learners to use old clothing fabrics for fabric transformation, they can add a form of artistic expression with an environmental theme, and learners can experience the joy of making their own artwork.

Introduction:

This is a toolkit designed for the transformation of old clothes, you can make old clothes power up and create a unique piece of life artwork by simply sewing, gluing, tearing and any other way you like. Unleash your creativity while doing it for the environment and sustainability and practices.

 

Step:

  • Part 1: Introduce learners to the background and significance of sustainable fashion and eco-creativity. Clarify the objectives of the toolkit and the values learners expect to achieve. (5min)
  • Part 2: Briefly explain the easy-to-follow fabric modification methods that need to be used, e.g. pasting, sewing,  tearing, etc.Learners work independently to design and complete the work. (10min)
  • Part 3: Elaboration of the work and sharing and communication (5 min)

The focus and the specific learning aims are to understand the principles of sustainable fashion, develop creative thinking and create your own unique eco-friendly artwork in conjunction with contemporary art through this open toolkit.
