Open Toolkits

OERs composed by MA Contemporary Art Theory Students

What are Open Toolkits?

Open Toolkits are free, open resources created by artists and arts organisations for the purpose of sharing their practices

2023’s cohort of MA Contemporary Art Theory students have each created an Open Toolkit to share with you.
Each Toolkit enables an open way of inhabiting a practice by taking part in it.
This year’s Open Toolkits will be published here in December 2023.

The MA CAT Artists’ Toolkits BarCamp seeks to realise The University of Edinburgh’s commitment to the ideals of UNESCO’s 2002 Forum on Open Courseware:

“The University encourages staff and students to create and publish OERs to enhance the quality of the student experience, increase the provision of learning opportunities for all, and contribute to the global pool of open knowledge.”
