Empower “Vitality”:

A leaf of happiness

Summary:
This is a light-hearted and lovely art healing project, which aims to encourage participants to imagine and feel the “life force” through creative work.

Human beings are often shocked by the life force they feel without realising it, it’s human instinct. But often it is difficult to think about the possibilities of the world if you don’t choose to stop. Research has shown that it is relaxing to “resurrect” or “anthropomorphise” what you see like a child.

Materials:  a leaf, coloured newspaper, tape and a black marker.

Please take 20 minutes to complete the test by following the steps below:

Step1

Observe this leaf in your hand, which has fortunately escaped from being corroded by the soil and has survived the autumn to come into your hand. Now, imagine it as a self-aware living being, imagine it is in a comfortable, happy state, what would it look like? Please think carefully about the state and likeness of this little life. (4min)

Step2

Now please cut a piece of newspaper that can carry your ideas and fix the leaves to it with tape. (2min)

Step3

Next, using the leaf as the living trunk, you can draw the image you have in mind as carefully as possible, using patterns or colours from the newspaper. To describe its state, you can add any elements of human society you can think of, such as tools, words, buildings… (10min)

Step4

Reflection: How do you feel and think about this process? You can say anything you want and post it in the comment section. (4min)
