Materials Needed
Paper
Pens, pencils, markers, or paint
Scissors
Glue or tape
Optional: decorative materials (beads, fabric, etc.)
Process
- Think about a theme for your ring. This could be based on a personal memory, a dream, or a response to a current social issue. (2 min)
- Sketch the design on paper. You can draw, write words, use patterns or decorative materials to express the theme of the ring. (3 min)
- Using the chosen materials, participants color, paint, or decorate the paper. This is where you can experiment with textures, layering, or mixed media. (3 min)
- Cut the decorated paper into a strip and roll or fold the paper into a ring shape. And if desired, add any final embellishments like beads or fabric. (10 min)
- You can briefly share your rings and the stories or concepts behind them with other participants. (2 min)
