When the media revivify is done…

Welcome to our blog. We are excited to highlight the new and creative ways in which the Digital Learning Applications and Media (DLAM) team are supporting the delivery of teaching, learning assessment, research and engagement activities.

Among our various projects this year, we will be strongly focused on delivering a new media asset management system to the University so that students, academics and staff who want to engage with multi-modal communication are provided the tools to manage the content journey from creation to delivery.

The University’s strategic planning places multimedia use – especially video – at the heart of current and future teaching, learning, and communications. Initiatives such as the Distance Education Initiative, MOOCs, enhancing the student experience, and innovative teaching have informed the need to support the creation, discovery and use of multimedia. Simplifying discovery and sharing multi-media materials  plays a critical role in the maintaining the University of Edinburgh’s leading position in the field of Open Education.

We look forward bring you more news and innovation from the DLAM front.
