How to Focus on Pre-Recorded Lectures

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In this video, Dr Sarah Ivory Lecturer in Climate Change and Business Strategy and Director, Centre for Business, Climate Change and Sustainability (B-CCaS) talks about how to stay focused in pre-recorded lectures, and at other times like reading articles or books. She explores why focus is so important, and provides advice on how to focus. In the current context, with so many students learning remotely and alone, this is an incredibly useful investment of time for all students trying to make th most of this learning environment.

Sarah – thank you so much for such a clear and focused (!!) snapshot.

I now know the ‘why’, and the ‘how’ to get more out of all this pre-recorded material, and focusing more generally. Your enthusiasm for the topic comes across and I really do think this should be compulsory viewing for staff and students!

Thanks a lot please Dr. Sarah, you reminded me of my senior school Geography teacher. She always said, we are not learning to get higher scores or cool marks but to become critical thinkers. I am an undergraduate, in Botswana Accountancy College and your clip was recommended by Dr. Simon Kendal in the University of Sunderland.

Thanks a lot for the effort and have taken focus as my takeaway that will aid me do well. I am doing my final year
