Unit3: Making Steps

1.Think about what kind of animal you want to be.

2. Use a pencil to draw the skeleton of the animal’s body on the cardboard (only one side is enough).

3. Carefully cut it out with scissors. You can also cut a few small pieces of cardboard to make a base and fix it under the animal’s feet with tape.

4. Crumple the newspapers into different sizes. The larger ones can be used for the body and head, while the smaller ones can be used for the ears, nose and tail, etc.

5. Fix the newspapers to the frame with tape as needed.

6. Mix the latex and water in a 1:1 ratio.

7. Wrap the entire animal model with crushed newspapers in the order of one layer of latex and one layer of crushed newspapers, and then place it in a well-ventilated area to dry.

8. Check the air-drying condition of the model. After it is air-dried, start coloring the model with paint.

9. After the paint dries, use it to draw the details of the animal. For example: eyes, nose, mouth, hair, spots, etc.

10. Give your animal companion a name and take some photos of it to share with everyone.
