4.Art knowledge

The interdisciplinary curatorial research investigates elements of void, spirituality, and light in contemporary art along with recent theoretical developments in cosmology and astrophysics to portray fundamental humanitarian values. Drawing from various theoretical and philosophical bases including, linguistics, neuroanatomy, and philosophy, the curatorial research presents a metaphysical interpretation of light, demonstrating the permeability and intersection between science and art.

More specifically, astrophysicists have presented new connections between particle physics and astronomy by presenting the discoveries along with contemporary artworks, and one of the primary example is the comparison between the Cosmic Microwave Background produced by NASA’s Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe (WMAP), based on data collected over nine years, and artist Bang Hai Ja’s artwork titled, Eye of Light(2004), as shown below

5.Meaning

The intellectual discourse surrounding contemporary art, as proposed by curators, art historians, and artists, seeks to transform the production of art into a responsible and sustainable educational mechanism for promoting long-term social change by creating innovative networks and platforms to address social and intellectual gaps in modern cultural infrastructures, arts education. Currently, the paradigm of modern art fails to address complex issues induced by globalization such as the ever-growing urgency of humanitarian crisis concerning privacy, geopolitical imbalances, globalization, environmental crisis, extreme poverty, terrorism and world inequities, thus the work of contemporary art is to search for constructive world pictures to counter its destructive effects across the globe. Accordingly, the research documents numerous contemporary artworks associated with the dimensions of space and time, which represent a lingua franca of modern art that radically expands the purview of modern art that operates under the teleology of western rationalism.
