Welcome to the podcast series: Uncovering UNCOVER. UNCOVER (Usher Network for COVID-19 Evidence Reviews) is a network of population health researchers and information specialists committed to responding to requests from policymakers for evidence reviews.

In this introductory episode, Nadege Atkins, an UNCOVER Reviewer and also co-producer of the uncovering UNCOVER podcast series, shares her experience as a member of UNCOVER. She discusses what UNCOVER is, and how she became involved in UNCOVER. Nadege also speaks of the benefits and challenges she has faced, and what skills she has developed being a part of UNCOVER.

Nadege Atkins is a 2021 a Master’s in Public Health (Distinction) graduate of The University of Edinburgh. She currently serves as the youth representative on her home country (St. Lucia) National COVID-19 Management Board where she provides recommendations to the government on ways of managing the current COVID-19 pandemic. She is also a member of UNCOVER where she volunteers and works as a reviewer including the World Health Organization living review on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on influenza and RSV activity. Nadege is also the project leader for the project titled UNCOVER Podcasts.

Eric is a Mathematics and Statistics student at The University of Edinburgh, and a podcasting intern for Teaching Matters. Eric is passionate about university student mental health, interviewing researchers for the Student Mental Health Research Network at King’s College London, leading the University of Edinburgh’s WellComm Kings Peer Support Scheme, and conducting research on stigma for People With Mental Illnesses (PWMI).  In his free time, he enjoys watching and playing sports, over-analysing hip-hop songs, podcasts, and any sort of wholesome shenanigans.
