In this post, Sam introduces the EUSA Teaching Awards 2023↗️, and congratulates the winners and shortlisted nominees of this year’s awards. Sam MacCallum, Students’ Association Vice President Education at the EUSA, sets the scene, as they provide a head start to the upcoming mini series under Learning and Teaching Enhancement theme: Students’ Association Teaching Awards 2023↗️.
We at the Students’ Association are delighted to announce the winners of this year’s Teaching Awards.
Our Teaching Awards were the first of their kind when they were created by Edinburgh University Students’ Association fourteen years ago. Since then, we’ve received well over 20,000 nominations recognising staff in every corner of the university. We are so proud to celebrate those who demonstrate the very best of teaching and support each year.
What sets the Teaching Awards apart is that they are entirely student-led. All of our nominations are submitted by students. Then, a panel of students who kindly volunteer their time during the busy months of April and May review each category, narrowing it down to three shortlisted nominees per category before choosing just one winner. This year, we received over 2,200 nominations recognising over 1,000 members of staff.
Our winners were announced during a digital ceremony↗️ on Wednesday 24th May. Below you can find a list of our shortlisted nominees and winners of this year’s awards.
