Physicists in business challenge competition

Well done to the team who made it to the IBM Universities Business Challenge final.

The School of Physics & Astronomy team came third in the Edinburgh semi-final at Teviot and gained a place in the final in Liverpool in March, beating over 70 teams, mostly from university business schools.

The team consisted of:

  • RongFang Li (Computational Physics 4th year)
  • Anurag Sritharan (Physics 4th year)
  • Kieran Rehal (Physics 4th year)
  • Pulkit Mohata (Computational Physics 3rd year)
  • Viktoria Krol (Physics 5th year)

The team were mentored by Helen McMillan from Waterstons tech consultancy, and the School provided funds for the team to travel and stay in Liverpool for the final.

The IBM Universities Business Challenge offers undergraduates a unique opportunity to improve knowledge of the business world, put theory into practice and develop team-working, leadership, employability and entrepreneurial skills by participating in a team-based competitive challenge.
