This fun activity is aimed at children aged 9+. You will need a printer to print some template sheets. Would you like to help an alien by designing its passport so that it can complete intergalactic travels? Then read on!
Aliens! What do they look like? Where might they live? During this activity you will consider these questions, and take into account the climate, geography and other important living conditions of aliens. You will learn about the effects of the environment on life – this is something astrobiologists study.
So, let’s get going!
– Firstly, watch the alien passport introductory video which gives you some background on the activity.
– Choose one of the 4 planets from the ‘Planet Data Sheet’ and carefully read the data. Think about what difficulty life on this planet would face. After determining these difficulties, come up with some adaptations your lifeforms or aliens should have in order to deal with these difficulties.
– Complete the alien passport with a description of your creature using the ‘Template Passport’:
