The Summer Craft Challenge was an amazing reminder of why I got into art when I was a teenager – FUN! The collage jewellery challenge plays with the infinite possibilities of domestic waste, it was great to come up with lots of funny ideas. Art is a natural thing for us to do and it brings us joy, try it and you will fall in love.

Climate Coalition Heart Badge

Award winning activist Sarah Corbett founded the Craftivist Collective in 2009 to create a community and resources that use craft as a tool for effective and gentle activism. Sarah says:
“Politicians and businesses take note when we stand up for what we believe: craftivism gifts for influential people can encourage them to be the change they wish to see in the world”.

The time and thought that goes into craftivism pieces show genuine care and commitment. Handmade, unusual campaigns using craft attract media attention, give people who are nervous about activism the chance to join in and intrigued passers-by.
