Weekly Changes – 25/07/2022

It’s the summer holidays so the last 2 weeks have been very quiet. Here are the details for the small number of minor changes…

Clang/LLVM Packages

There are new package options for the Clang and LLVM packages on Ubuntu Focal. They can be enabled using the LCFG_OPTIONS_CLANG and LCFG_OPTIONS_LLVM package macros. Note that these macros only result in the older version 10 being installed, packages for the newer versions 11 and/or 12 are also available in the repository. Related to this, the ninja-build tool may also be included using the LCFG_OPTIONS_NINJA package macro.

Remote File Editor (RFE)

The RFE daemon has been updated to include the authenticated principal in the revision-control change log message.

Nvidia persistenced

The lcfg/options/nvidia-persistenced.h header has been corrected to use safe tag names used in the auth component extrapasswd and extragroup list resources. This resolves bug#1311, thanks to Bruce Duncan for the report.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists. Diffs for the previous release are also available.
