Achol and Caroline will be in conversation about their collaborative writing on South Sudanese youth advocates’ perspectives on suicide. This interaction will be based on a recent co-authored paper (open access – reference below). Rather than revisit the paper’s themes in detail, Achol and Caroline will share their rationale for working together on this topic and how collaborative writing is helping expand understandings of suicide from a sociocultural perspective. They will discuss the obstacles to engaging in co-research as situated beyond a clinical space.
