Are you fascinated by the captivating visuals of K-pop idols and their stunning photos? Have you ever wondered how to capture that unique blend of contemporary art vibrancy, style, and energy in your own photographs? Welcome to “Capturing contemporary art K-Pop Magic,” a comprehensive photo teaching course designed to unlock the secrets behind the eye-catching imagery that defines the world of K-pop. For now, I am going to use HYPIC (醒图) to teach you how to create Kpop album photos with contemporary art elements.

HYPIC is a versatile image editing app that is easy to operate and powerful, allowing you to easily achieve the ultimate results you never expected.

Objectives

1. Encourage students to express their creativity and artistic abilities by emulating the vibrant and dynamic visual elements commonly found in Kpop style images.

2. Develop media literacy skills by analyzing and understanding the visual language used in Kpop style pictures. This includes the use of color, composition, and symbolism.

3. Teach students digital art skills, such as photo editing, graphic design, and manipulation of images, as they work to create Kpop-inspired visuals.

Learning Process

Step 1: Understanding K-Pop Aesthetics (10mins)

Explore the visual style of K-pop and understand the key elements by watching Youtube videos From vibrant colors to dynamic poses, uncover the secrets that make K-pop photos visually striking, you can choose any styles you like.

Step 2 :Share DIY Kpop-inspired self portrait ideas with your group members (5mins)

K-pop idols are known for their polished and dynamic poses. Thus, we will do experiments with different poses, angles, and expressions to capture a sense of energy and confidence in your photos. So make some creative ideas and poses of photo that you are going to take!  If you have no idea, you can learn some poses in the video below.

Step 3: Practical Shooting Sessions (5mins)

Apply your newfound knowledge in hands-on shooting sessions. Experiment with poses, props, and lighting setups with your partner to capture K-pop-inspired images under the guidance of experienced instructors.

Step 4: Editing photos by using HYPIC(醒图）(10mins)

Dive into the world of photo editing with a focus on techniques commonly used in K-pop photography. Download the app, touch the ‘Search’ to discover stickers, templates and filters to enhance colors, achieve flawless skin tones, and add contemporary art elements (go search the key word ‘ART’) to make your photos pop.

Step 5: Portfolio Development (5mins)

Receive feedback on your work from your group members and engage in portfolio development. Gain insights into how to curate a collection of photos that showcase your unique style while incorporating K-pop aesthetics. Discuss with your group members which contemporary art style that you apply in the practise.
