Weekly Changes – 22/04/2024

This week sees a bit of churn in the headers due to the removal of long-dead support for the old Ubuntu installer, other than that it’s a fairly quiet week. Here are the details of all the notable changes…

Legacy boot support

The legacy boot disk configuration has been improved slightly to fix support for nvme drives. The FSTAB_PRIMARY_DISK macro in the lcfg/defaults/fstab.h header now defaults to gpt-bios for the primary disk label when the USE_LEGACY_BOOT macro is specified.

Grub boot

The LCFG grub component has been improved to fix support for a timeout on EFI systems. See bug#1346 for full details.

Ubuntu Installer

Support for the old legacy Ubuntu installer was dropped quite a while ago. Work on simplifying and tidying up the LCFG header files is now ongoing to remove references to the USE_NEW_INSTALLER macro.

fail2ban

The LCFG fail2ban component has been updated to improve support for Cosign and krb5kdc log entries on Ubuntu.

nut UPS monitor

The LCFG nut2 component has been updated to fix support for running the nut UPS monitor CGI scripts on Ubuntu.
