Weekly Changes – 30/10/2023

Another fairly quiet week, mostly the changes are for our work on upgrading the LCFG wiki and bug tracker to Ubuntu Jammy. Here are all the notable changes…

nvidia

The nvidia 535 series packages on Ubuntu Focal have been updated to version 535.104.12.

pbuilder

The pbuilder software for building packages in a chroot on Ubuntu has been updated to fully support Ubuntu Jammy.

foswiki

New support has been added for running Foswiki on Ubuntu. This is a modern fork of the TWiki software (which is no longer maintained). The new lcfg/options/foswiki.h header just installs the necessary package dependencies, the foswiki software needs to be downloaded from the website.

bugzilla

Basic support for running bugzilla on Ubuntu has been added. Currently this is just the package dependencies and the Maria DB software, the LCFG bugzilla component still requires some attention. Note that, unlike on SL7, the bugzilla software is fetched manually using git rather than being installed using a package.

Software

There are a few new package options for Ubuntu:

  • LCFG_OPTIONS_BUGZILLA_DEPS – the complete set of dependencies for bugzilla
  • LCFG_OPTIONS_FOSWIKI_DEPS – the complete set of dependencies for Foswiki
  • LCFG_OPTIONS_RST2PDF – ReportLab-based reStructuredText to PDF renderer
  • LCFG_OPTIONS_PERL_LIBWWW – the libwww Perl module collection and dependencies

Note that quite a few options have been reworked to depend on the new LCFG_OPTIONS_PERL_LIBWWW option which has affected the ordering of some options.

Changes to headers and package lists
