… which rarely produces anything edible and the flowering cherry …

… which never does. (Both of those pictures were taken two weeks ago.)  But the most exciting thing today was that apricot tree. It’s six flowers have resulted in one actual fruit setting.

It is currently about the size of the end of my fingers and I do not have serious hopes that (a) it will ripen and (b) I will get to eat it before the snails and blackbirds gobble it up.  But it is a good sign for future years.
