Digital poetry is a form of electronic literature that demonstrates a wide range of approaches to creating poetry in which computers are prominently and critically used. Digital platforms allow programming to create art across different media, so digital poetry is a synthesis of poetry, visual arts, and music, and we seek a strong interaction with language in poetic works.

Digital poetry writing encourages you to create poetry digitally, exploring new modes of poetry writing through the use of modern technology. We want you to add a personal aesthetic element to your work, unleash your imagination and build your artistic style.

The following steps apply to phones, tablets, and laptops.

It is recommended that you download the “Jianying” program on your device in advance. Download “ADOBE WXPERSS” if you use a mobile phone.

STEP 1 Decide on the topic of writing for 1 minute

• Choose a topic that interests you to create a digital poem, and you can list some keywords related to that topic. (It is not advisable to choose controversial topics such as politics, gender, race, etc.)
• An example of the word “time” will be used as a guide and demonstration. (The sample will be done on a computer.)

STEP 2 AI-assisted poetry writing for 2 minutes

• Login https://poem-generator.io/ (AI Poem Generator)
• Enter a topic and keywords in the text box and wait for the AI to generate a poem for you, copying the generated text to your device.
• You can choose the form, length, and language style of the poem to make it more complete. If the generated poem doesn’t satisfy you, you can try changing the keyword and generating it more times until the text meets your requirements.

STEP 3 Generate a poetic mood image for 4 minutes

• Sign in to https://spark.adobe.com Create an account (Google account can be selected)
• Tap Use AI generated, select Generate image, enter the poem’s topic and keywords in the text box, wait for the AI to generate an image that matches the poem, and click Download or copy the image directly to your device.
• If the resulting image doesn’t satisfy you, you can try generating multiple times until you find the one that best matches the mood of the poem.

STEP 4 Generate Poetry Background Music 3minutes

• Login to https://www.stableaudio.com/generate to create an account (you can choose Google account)
• Input the theme and keywords of the poem (or the whole poem) into the text box, click Generate, and wait for the AI to generate the background music of the poem. (It is recommended that you choose a music duration that matches the length of the poem’s text, usually no more than one minute.) Click Download to save your music
• If you are not satisfied with the generated music, you can try to generate several times until you create the most suitable background music for the style of the poem.

STEP 5 Create a complete digital poem 9minutes

•  Download “剪映” https://www.capcut.cn/mobile_portal  Choose the download method that suits your device (mobile/non-mobile)
•  Or”Capcut” https://www.capcut.com/zh-tw/(international version)
•  Click on “New Text” to import your poem into the text box. Click on “Read Aloud” to select a suitable AI voice to read out your poem clearly.
•  Select the audio, picture and audio clips of your poem and overlap them in separate tracks. You can choose to delete the poetry text or keep it.
•  You can choose to add effects and subtitles to the digital poem, depending on your personal preference and completion time. (Be careful to avoid some paid projects.)
• At this point, you have successfully created a digital poem that is personal to you!

STEP 6 Communication and Feedback 1minute

•  You can share and discuss the digital poems you have created with your peers.
•  Share your creations on social media so that more people can enjoy digital poetry.
