Recent Activity for the LCFG project

Weekly Changes – 02/02/2026

There’s one significant change this week which is an update to the supported nvidia series, here are the details of all the notable changes…

nvidia

The default series is now 580. Support has also been added for the 590 Feature Branch version for those who need the bleeding edge.

Server models

There are new LCFG headers for the Dell PowerEdge R570 – lcfg/hw/dell_poweredge_r570.h – and R670 – lcfg/hw/dell_poweredge_r670.h – server models.

Bugzilla

Support has been added for running Bugzilla on Ubuntu Noble, this adds the latest Template Toolkit and DBD::MariaDB modules (rebuilt from Debian unstable packages) to support version 5.2. Support has been removed for SL7 and Ubuntu Focal.

LCFG installer

For those with AFS access, the ISO images for the LCFG installer have moved to the /afs/inf.ed.ac.uk/group/lcfg/installer directory.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists. Note that the location of the diffs has changed, links to the old location will be rewritten.
