Weekly Changes – 19/09/2022

A fairly quiet week with little impact on most sites, here are the details of the notable changes…

PostgreSQL

The lcfg/options/postgresql-14.h header has been fixed to ensure that the postgresql services are only started automatically via the package scripts when it’s being used in an unmanaged mode (i.e. without the LCFG component). It also now declares a dependency on libllvm10 which is necessary for some small server installations.

There are new lcfg/options/postgresql-15.h and lcfg/options/postgresql-15-server.h headers which supports using PostgreSQL 15 on SL7 and Ubuntu Focal. Note that this is a beta release and not yet ready for production usage.

apt

The LCFG apt component schema has been updated to version 3 to add support for the new addkey and bootstrap methods.

LaTeX

The dice/options/latex.h header now has support for specifying the DICE_LATEX_FULL macro which will result in a full install of LaTeX packages.

fstab

There is a new fstab component schema (version 5) which will be used by version 2 of the component to support Ubuntu.

Package Options

There is a new LCFG_OPTIONS_LSB package option which can used to install the complete set of dependencies for the Linux Standard Base.

Changes to headers and package lists

Members of the Informatics Computing team can browse all the changes to the headers and package lists.
