Weekly Changes – 20/09/2021

This week sees minimal changes, other than the usual weekly security updates most sites won’t see much change this week. Here are the details…

auth component

The auth component has gained support for configuring the /etc/security/time.conf configuration file for the pam_time PAM module. For full details of what is supported by this module see the man pages: time.conf(5) and pam_time(8). This week introduces the new schema (version 5), the component code will be updated in the subsequent stable release. Documentation and basic examples will be provided once this is ready for use. Note that new features for the auth component are only supported on Ubuntu.

Wireshark

Wireshark was rebuilt for Ubuntu 20.04.3 which resulted in a new dependency on the libllvm12 package. The new dependency has now been added to the postship package list to fix bug#1283.

Kernel

The INF_TEST kernel for Ubuntu has been updated to 5.4.0-84.94 and on SL7 to 3.10.0-1160.42.2.el7.

Tartarus Client Report

The LCFG module for the client report utility on DICE machines has been enhanced to add support for checking the LCFG client status and to report any components with errors. The client status indicates whether Systemd believes that the rdxprof service is active.
