Weekly Changes – 15/02/2021

Due to holidays this is a very small set of changes, here’s the summary…

MAC address validation

This week sees the dhclient component schema regain validation of the MAC address held in the dhclient.mac resource to ensure it matched the expected format. This is something we had in the past which seems to have been lost during some development work. Recently we spotted that errors were creeping in which made the MAC addresses unusable, in particular ‘0‘ (zero) was occasionally being replaced with a ‘o‘ or ‘O‘ character. This is used to generate the DHCP server configuration files so ensuring the data is correct is quite important. Currently all the LCFG profiles are still using the previous schema (v3), we expect to switch to the new schema (v4) in the next stable release.

matlab

Some further work has been done on support for matlab 2021b on our Ubuntu platform.

New Software

Along with the weekly security updates, support for Python virtual environments on our Ubuntu platform has been much improved.
