Looking for work? Follow the investment

The latest issue of Invest Edinburgh, the quarterly magazine produced by the Investor Supporter team at the City of Edinburgh Council, makes interesting reading for anyone living, studying or working in Edinburgh. It focuses on companies moving into Edinburgh or expanding.

Besides lots of snippets of news covering retail, scientific research and even urban landscaping developments, this edition includes a profile of FanDuel, the fantasy sports gaming company. Its regular feature on new arrivals to Edinburgh looks at indie Semiconductor, and this edition’s ‘1 to Watch’ is Cogbooks, a company specialising in web-based learning services.

Keeping an eye on the economy of a city – being aware of which companies are moving there and what sectors are flourishing – can give you a valuable head-start if you’re hoping to base yourself there in the future. It can help you identify opportunities, and demonstrate commercial awareness in your application and interview. To find out about other ways you can do this, sign up for our webinar taking place on Thursday 26 February as part of CareerConfident week.
