Kirsten from the Careers Service has a message for you…..
We’re looking forward to the new academic year and welcoming all new students.
As a new Postgraduate Taught student your relatively short and intensive course means you may not find much time to think about your career options for once you are finished. Because of this we’d like to let you know about some of our services right now so you can make a start before semester even begins.
There are two things you can do before you start your course to help you get ahead with your career.
- Plan for success! Use these online resources to develop academic skills for successful postgraduate study and to plan for your future career. For those of you who were able to attend the Plan for Success talk on 31st August below are the slides used in the presentation.Plan for success PGTs August 2017
- Get started now! We know it seems early to think about the end of your studies, but graduate recruitment has already started for those planning to start work in September 2018. Get started on the Careers Service website
Here are the slides used in the online Get started now session on 5th September.
The Careers Service will have an open afternoon for postgraduate students on Thursday 14th September so please feel free to come in to see us. We will be running various talks on that day too. Find out more about these on MyCareerHub.
If you can’t make it along on that day then please come and see us at the University Postgraduate Welcome event on Tuesday 12th September.
We look forward to welcoming you and supporting you over the coming year!
