Evaluation Support Scotland (ESS) would like to invite you, on behalf of the Scottish Third Sector Research Forum, to attend its third annual event to broker relationships between the third sector and academia.This year’s event, Let’s collaborate for impact, will take place on Tuesday, 13 September 2016 between 10 am and 4 pm in Victoria Quay, Scottish Government, Commercial Street, Edinburgh, EH6 6QQ.This event is for the third sector, academia and brokers interested in collaborating for impact. Attendees will get an opportunity to:
- Improve understanding of what impact means in third and academic sectors
- Identify practical steps to effective collaboration for greater impact
- Have networking opportunities to share ideas with others.

DECIPHer short courses – September 2016
Course 1: Process evaluation of complex interventions. The aim of this one-day course is to provide participants with a working knowledge of the theory and practice of process evaluation of complex interventions.
Course 2: involving children and young people in the design and conduct of research. The aim of this one-day course is to provide participants with an understanding of how to involve children and young people in the design and conduct of research, with a particular focus on the development and evaluation of complex interventions. The course includes practical sessions where delegates can apply learning to develop a plan for involving children and young people in their own projects or research ideas.
DECIPHer, the Centre for the Development and Evaluation of Complex Interventions for Public Health Improvement, is one of fve UKRC Public Health Research Centres of Excellence coordinated by the Medical Research Council.

SCPHRPs Daryl Archibald is co-author on a paper The relationships between golf and health: a scoping review that’s been accepted for publication at the British Journal of Sports Medicine. The research is funded by the World Golf Foundation and is led by Dr Andrew Murray from PAHRC.
